6.3 mile out-and-back from Gazebo Lake to South Catamount Dam

Moderate to Difficult
Best used: April to October due to icy conditions from northern aspect and forest canopy.

Crystal Trail

(Blue Dot)

0.9 mile one way from intersection with Kirkpatrick Trail to Ring the Peak Trail. Add .8 mi from Gazebo Lake.
1120' elev. gain between Kirkpatrick Trail and Ring the Peak Trail
Difficult
Best used: May thru October. The dense forest canopy and northern aspect prevent snow melt and lead to icy conditions in winter. Caution: upper reaches above treeline are extremely prone to lightning strikes during storms!

H.B. Wallace Reserve

Seven short hiking paths provide over 2 miles of peaceful walking.

Distances and elevation gains vary.
Most difficult: Castle Rock trail. Nice views from the Castle Rock formation on top.
The remaining trails are Easy to Moderate.

Kirkpatrick Trail

(Green Dot)

0.8 mile one way from Wallace Reserve to intersection at Thomas Trail. Add 0.7 mi. from Gazebo Lake.
240' gain between Crystal Falls and Wallace Reserve
Easy
Best used: April thru October.

Mt. Dewey

(Purple Dot)

0.85 mile one way from Myrtle St Trailhead to summit (add 0.5 mile from Gazebo Lake)
570' elev gain
Moderate to Difficult
Best used: Almost year-round.

1 mile from Gazebo Lake to GMF Rd. near Town Hall. Add 0.6 for return to Lake

Best used: Lake to Art: almost year-round
North face (facing Hwy 24): April to October due to snow on north aspect / forest canopy.

Thomas Trail

(Yellow Dot)

1 mile between Crystal Falls and Catamount Falls. Add 0.5 mile for hike up from Gazebo Lake to top of Boulder St. Another 1.1 mile to complete loop down Catamount Trail and Hondo Ave.
360' elev. gain between the Falls, drop 260' along Catamount Falls.
Moderate
Best used: April thru October. The dense forest canopy and northern aspect prevent snow melt and lead to icy conditions in winter.
