Executive Board
President
Rocco Blasi
Rocco Blasi arrived in Colorado courtesy of the U.S. Air Force, and he never looked back. These mountains were an epiphany, full of adventure and reflection. After over a dozen years living in GMF he still finds new places to explore in the Ute Pass area. Working the land with small groups of friends, making deep connections with the land and the people on it, is his therapy. Rocco lives with his wife, teenage son, and two dogs.
Vice President
Chris Watling
Chris Watling, a native of Michigan, chose Colorado as a duty station with the Army. Once here, decided there was no better place to raise a family and does what he can to give back to the places where he finds solitude. Captivated by all things nature and science, when he is not out with the wife and kids fishing or hiking, Chris spends his time rambling on and on about maps, trails, space, or biology.
Secretary
Mark Scott-Nash
Mark Scott-Nash is a 4th generation Colorado native whose love of the mountains began in Green Mountain Falls where his grandparents lived. His passion for mountaineering inspired him to lead expeditions to the great mountain ranges of the world, including the Himalayas, Andes and Alaska. Mark has also taught mountaineering with the Colorado Mountain Club and was a volunteer with mountain rescue for more than a decade. Mark and his wife Shelly moved to Green Mountain Falls recently and were surprised to discover the excellent trail system, and were inspired to join the Friends of Ute Pass Trails to help support this effort.
Treasurer
John Bell
I moved to Colorado in 2007 seeking natural beauty, open spaces, and freedom to live the Western spirit. Over the years, I’ve taken advantage of the outdoor recreation opportunities through road biking, mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, skiing and more. I believe that Friends of Ute Pass Trails contributes to Green Mountain Fall’s connection to nature, health, and well-being through its commitment to maintaining and building trails. I’m happy to be part of a group that contributes to making our slice of paradise a better place to live and recreate.
